The shoulder bolt is a screw with an unthreaded shoulder that is larger in diameter than the threads. Also known as stripper bolt. The cylindrical shoulder that allows for the rotation of attached parts like pulleys, gears, moving parts of engines and mechanical assemblies, and rolling wheels. Shoulder bolt also used to attach stripper plates. The socket head enables high torque fastening with limited clearance.

Passivation occurs only if the proportion of chromium is high enough and oxygen is present.
