Anti loose screws are also known as nylon patch screws. Nylon patch is a pre-applied thread-locking coating (typically Nylon), which is fused to internal or external threads of a fastener. The nylon patch is dry to the touch and ready for use right out of the box. Unlike reactive thread lockers, the nylon patch performs immediately upon assembly with no curing time required. When assembled with a mating part, the nylon patch is compressed. The engineered plastic (typically a Nylon Patch) resists this compression and acts as a wedge, increasing the metal to metal contact 180° opposite the material. This mechanical force creates a strong, yet fully adjustable lock which will not weaken, even under extreme vibration. The Phillips screw drive was created by John P. Thompson, who after failing to interest manufacturers, sold his design to businessman Henry F. Phillips. Phillips is credited with forming a company (Phillips Screw Company), improving the design, and promoting the adoption of his product. The original patent expired in 1966, but the Phillips Screw Company continued to develop improved designs.
Phillips drive bits are often designated by the letters “PH”, plus a size code 0000, 000, 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 (by order of increasing size); the numerical bit size codes do not necessarily correspond to nominal screw size numbers.

Stainless steel does not readily corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does. However, it is not fully stain-proof in low-oxygen, high salinity, or poor air-circulation environments.
