The skateboard bolt is used to lock the parts of the board or axle or the other parts of the skateboard. The most common sizes of hardware for skateboard are 7/8” (for use with no risers) and 1” (for 1/8” risers). These sizes of hardware should be sufficient to assemble most skateboard set-ups. If you’re using riser pads with a height larger than 1/8”, then longer hardware sets may be required. Ever Hardware provides custom-made fasteners and customizable packaging.
(Standard truck axle nut size is 5/16″-24tpi UNF, and the thinner “jam” style with an optional nylon lock.) Trucks that are too wide can make doing tricks difficult and can cause the wheels to get in the way when the skateboard is being ridden.
Most skateboard decks are made of glue and wood (usually maple), but some are made of composites, aluminum, nylon, Plexiglas, fiberglass, foam, and other artificial materials. They are usually decorated by screenprinting.
