SS fasteners fastening screws stainless nuts and bolts
SS fasteners are the fasteners made of stainless steel. Stainless steel does not readily corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does. However, it is not fully stain-proof in low-oxygen, high salinity, or poor air circulation environments. There are different grades and surface finishes of stainless steel to suit the environment the alloy must endure. Stainless steel is used where both the properties of steel and corrosion resistance are required.
A fastener is a hardware device that mechanically joins or affixes two or more objects together.
Fasteners can also be used to close a container such as a bag, a box, or an envelope; or they may involve keeping together the sides of an opening of flexible material, attaching a lid to a container, etc. There are also special-purpose closing devices, e.g. a bread clip. Fasteners used in these manners are often temporary, in that they may be fastened and unfastened repeatedly.
Some types of woodworking joints make use of separate internal reinforcements, such as dowels or biscuits, which in a sense can be considered fasteners within the scope of the joint system, although on their own they are not general purpose fasteners.
Most of the ss fasteners are passivation finished. Passivation, in physical chemistry and engineering, refers to a material becoming “passive,” that is, less affected or corroded by the environment of future use. Passivation involves the creation of an outer layer of shield material that is applied as a micro coating, created by chemical reaction with the base material or allowed to build from spontaneous oxidation in the air.
